Jump on the UNCOOLtrane!

I will continue the series I started (argument with myself) shortly.

For now, I'd like to discuss how I once wrote an article entitled "Coltrane? More like UNCOOLtrane!" labeling Mr. John Coltrane as a "hard bop" player and as too hot to be cool. I contrasted his music with the easy, nonchalant genius of Miles Davis. Take a listen.

Can you hear what I mean? See about 2:30 or so for a prime example of Coltrane going nuts. I think I actually use "So What" as a source in the piece I wrote. Paul Chambers, on bass at the beginning and end, plays wonderfully.
